LENOVO A1000, A3000 AND S6000 ANDROID TABLETS LAUNCHED IN INDIA

Lenovo A1000 is the budget Android calling tablet amongst this lot and is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core MediaTek MT8317 processor, which is backed by a 1 GB DDR2 RAM. The internal storage capacity is 4 GB which can be further extended to 32 GB using microSD card support. The display of this tablet is 7 inch in size with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, which is decent enough at this price range. On the software front this tab runs on Android 4.1 jelly bean Operating System. It has a front facing VGA camera and a SIM card Slot with 2G support for voice calling. The battery capacity is 3500 mAh. This kind of battery backup is a necessity considering the 7 Inch screen size. It is expected to last 5 to 6 hrs with moderate usage. This Tab comes with a price tag of Rs. 8,999
Next is Lenovo A3000 which has a similar 7 Inch display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution; however the processor specifications have been enhanced compared to A1000. This tab features 1.2 GHZ Quad core MT8389/8125 Processor along with Android 4.2 jelly bean Operating System. The RAM capacity is 1 GB and the internal memory has been increased to 16 GB, which can be further extended to 64 GB using a microSD card. The primary AF camera of this Tab is of 5 MP and a front VGA camera is also available for video calling. The battery capacity is same at 3500 mAh compared to A1000 but we can expect the battery to drain slightly faster owing to the presence of Quad core processor. This Tab is 11 mm thick and weighs a moderate 345 grams. Connectivity features include 3G (Via Dongle), WiFi, Bluetooth, USB OTG and 3.5 mm Audio jack. This Tab has been priced at 16,000 INR.
Lenovo S6000 comes with a larger screen size of 10 Inch. This 10 point Multi touch display has quite wide viewing angles of 178 degrees. Chipset specifications are similar to that of A3000. It is also powered by 1.2 GHz Quad core MTK8389/8125 Processor with 1 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. The RAM capacity should have been more considering the price range. The internal memory is further extendable to 64 GB using microSD card. The camera features are also same with 5MP Auto focus camera at the back and a VGA camera in the front. The Operating system employed is Android 4.2 Jelly bean O.S. the battery capacity is quite admirable at 6300 mAh. Other features include 3G (Via Dongle), WiFi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 3.5 mm Audio jack, Micro – HDMI and digital microphone. This tablet has been priced at 27,000 INR.
Lenovo is a established player in Tablet market and earlier this year Lenovo launched IdeaTab A2107 in exclusively in India. This Dual SIM tablet garnered enough hype and was priced at a moderate 14,000 INR . It remains to be seen how these tablets will be received in a somewhat stagnant Tablet market.
