LG Vu III leak shows 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 800 processor

After the launch of its flagship smartphone, the G2, LG is now reportedly working on the successor of the Vu II, the LG Vu III. The new smartphone will be the third in the Vu range and will come out with model numbers F-300K, F-300L and F-300S, according to sources.
The report says that the new smartphone will come with a bigger 5.2-inch display but will stick to the same 4:3 aspect ratio with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels. An intriguing fact about the new smartphone is the possibility of a Snapdragon 800 processor being featured with 2GB of RAM. The phone may come with 16GB of memory.

Apart from that, the source says that the Vu III will run on the recently released Android 4.3 OS. The new smartphone is said to come with a 13 megapixel camera and support for LTE-A networks as well. There is no mention about the other hardware specifications of the device, but a report byGSMarena suggests that the phone may come with a similar design to that of its predecessor. The Vu III may see a possible announcement at the IFA expo in Berlin, which is being held in September.

The Vu series has been around for a while now. The LG Optimus Vu, which was launched in India in 2012, came to the global markets with a Tegra 3 processor. The 5-inch phablet came with a 4:3 aspect ratio display. The Vu II, however, came with a dual-core Snapdragon processor and a 5-inch HD-IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The latest flagship, the G2, comes with a 5.2-inch display and a 2.26GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. LG’s latest addition to the Vu series should come with all the latest features packed in, but there is no word on an official announcement from LG yet.

Here’s a quick look at the possible specifications of the LG Vu III:
  • 5.2 inch display with 1280 x 960 pixels resolution
  • Snapdragon 800 processor
  • Google Android v4.3 Jelly Bean
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB internal memory
  • 13 megapixel primary camera
