Have had a rough day? Here’s a doze of lulz for you. A man in China was caught smuggling iPhones into the country. Now, you must be wondering what the big deal about this is. The deal is that he was smuggling not two or three, but 66 iPhones into the country… the phones strapped to his body
The man was trying to crossover into China at the Luohu border between Hong Kong and Shenzen. Customs officers at the point suspected the man – wearing a checked shirt, casual trousers and holding a plastic bag – of suspicious activity. According to a report by Sina.com, the officials thought he was acting a bit too “stiff”. Evidently, he could not have moved around too much lest a single phone drop out of his shirt.

He could've probably used these as a shield when the police fired if he escaped
Predictably, the officials first reached out into the unidentified man’s plastic bag but failed to find anything. They then decided to run him through a metal detector – something the man had clearly not planned in advance for. To their utmost shock and surprise, the customs officials found 66 iPhones strapped to his abdomen, ready to be smuggled inside mainland China.
Apparently, this seems to be a hot new way to smuggle iPhones into China where the official market share for Apple products isn’t too huge. The 66 iPhone-man was caught on the very same day customs officials seized four consecutive travellers who were trying to sneak in iPhones within the country. One of them was caught in the same way our man here was. He “only” had 16 iPhones strapped to himself.
